En la mayor\u00eda de pastiches holmesianos se utiliza otro recurso a\u00fan m\u00e1s recurrente con el fin de dar mayor credibilidad al relato: el autor, en este caso Daniel Stashower, se convierte en editor o traductor de un manuscrito encontrado firmado por el propio Doctor Watson.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/><o:p><\/o:p><\/FONT><\/SPAN><\/p>\n<p> <P style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt\" class=MsoNoSpacing><FONT size=3><SPAN style=\"FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'\">La historia, ambientada en el Londres de 1907, comienza cuando u<\/SPAN><SPAN style=\"FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-language: ES; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'\">na serie de cartas (que comprometen al Pr\u00edncipe de Gales, adem\u00e1s de tensar las relaciones con Alemania) han desaparecido de una habitaci\u00f3n acorazada y Harry Houdini se convierte en el sospechoso id\u00f3neo. <\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/p>\n<p> <P style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt\" class=MsoNoSpacing><FONT size=3><SPAN style=\"FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-language: ES; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'\">&#8220;Houdini y Sherlock Holmes&#8221; se revela como un pastiche entretenid\u00edsimo que nos permite recuperar al viejo detective enfrent\u00e1ndole amistosamente con el gran escapista Houdini, quien nos mostrar\u00e1 muchos de los trucos que realiz\u00f3 en su vida real y que le convirtieron en una verdadera leyenda.
